I'm Raymond, owner of Homestead Cabinet Design. Thanks for visiting my website. Let me give a brief introduction to myself and my business.
I've been in the cabinet industry for over 20 years with experience in designing, building, finishing and installing custom cabinets. I worked in a high end cabinet shop for years where I gained most of my experience.
In 2019, I quit my job at the cabinet shop I had been working for and started my own business in refinishing and refacing cabinetry. I also make a lot of cabinet additions as well as completely new kitchens.
I work mostly by myself with some help from my son who is an apprentice. I don't have employees, but I do team up with other professional contractors who build cabinets for me, spray cabinet doors, and help with cabinet installations as this is often a 2 man job.
My expertise is in kitchen design, building and spraying cabinetry. I've recently collaborated with CY Cabinet painters in Westfield, MA who do a lot of my spray painting in their shop. We've worked together on a lot of projects where I provide new doors, drawers, hardware and installation, and Jim from CY Cabinet painters does the spray finishing. We make a great team, and both of us get lots of positive reviews!
We provide a high quality end product and take pride in our work. We are not the cheapest cabinet painters but rather focus on using the best products and giving attention to detail. You can Check my reviews here and see what my customers are saying - that's what matters most!
I have a Home Improvement Contractors License with the State of MA and also CT. My service radius is approximately one hour from my location in Palmer.
My business is small and I don't have a showroom. But I do bring samples to your house when you're ready for a consultation.

My wife found Raymond searching for someone to update our kitchen cabinets for a house we purchased that was built in 2008 & needed a makeover.We didn’t want the expense of replacing all of our cabinets which probably would have been double the price & much more of an inconvenience.We had previously updated other homes & had a home built in South Carolina so we have hired many different contractors for many different renovations.We feel that when you get the type of quality workmanship that we received it’s important to let others know just how satisfied and impressed we were with his work.Professional, prompt and detailed.I will just say this, Raymond is amazing craftsman, an artist of the utmost degree in his craft & we would highly recommend him to anyone considering hiring him. We worked with Raymond and Homestead Cabinet Design to refresh our kitchen cabinetry, and he did a wonderful job! He helped us on the front end of the project to make the decision to replace the cabinet doors and drawers but keep the existing cabinet boxes since they were well built, in good shape, and served our needs. We ended up deciding to modify one cabinet and replace two others due to some decisions we made, and he fit this into the program quite well. Raymond did a wonderful job throughout the entire project. He scheduled the work to accommodate the sequence of the other trades, he was extremely professional, and his work is top quality. I do not hesitate to give him the highest recommendation!

Homestead Cabinet Design did a fantastic job updating my kitchen cabinets. My cabinets were fundamentally solid but cosmetically old and worn looking. In addition to updating the cabinets, I wanted to reconfigure a couple of the existing cabinets to make them more useful. I also needed a floor-to-ceiling cabinet replaced with one that could hold a new wall oven I planned to add. Raymond was able to accommodate all of my cabinetry requirements.The results exceeded my expectations. The newly painted cabinet faces and new doors combined with the custom cabinet work integrated perfectly. Raymond has an impeccable attention to detail. The entire job looks beautiful.Raymond did the on-site consultation, offered suggestions and guidance and then personally performed the work. What a fabulous experience we had working with Raymond and his team at Homestead Cabinet Design! Our 20 year old kitchen was badly in need of a facelift. We consulted with Raymond, originally thinking of repainting our cabinets as we had little knowledge of what else was possible. Raymond met with us several times to understand our desires, explore what was possible, and create an amazing design involving custom cabinets with light rail molding and crown molding, a modern beautiful kitchen island, and wonderful cabinet features like soft close doors, rollout drawers, and hideaways. Homestead did an AMAZING job with our kitchen cabinets! We needed brand new custom upper cabinets and lower cabinet refacing. Everything came out beautiful, better than expected.It's rare these days to work with one person from start to finish on a job like this, but Raymond came out for the initial consult, then the final measurement, & then came back and did the install. To have the same person handling all aspects of the project from start to finish was seamless. There were zero surprises & no problems. This is a great example of how working with a small business can provide you with a better overall experience than the alternatives when the small business owner works hard and cares about the result as much as you do. I did get quotes from other, larger companies, and they came in more expensive for a lower quality product.Raymond was prompt with communication & answered all of my questions thoroughly from start to finish. I could not have been happier with the whole project. On top of all of this, it was an excellent value, and the cabinets are high quality and exactly what I was looking for! Highly Recommended.

Raymond painted my cabinets in the kitchen and in three bathrooms. My kitchen is open to my living room and dining room. Raymond perfectly color matched the Benjamin Moore color that I requested. Now the doors have a beautiful factory finish. Everything painted on the cabinet boxes was done meticulously and the kitchen harmonizes beautifully with the living and dining rooms. Raymond kept to his promised schedule, his agreed to budget, and was always a pleasure to work with when I had questions or special requests that needed to be addressed. You should look no further if you are thinking of hiring someone for cabinetry work. I highly recommend him, and I would hire him again.
I could not be happier with the quality of the work done in my kitchen. The new cabinet fronts are light years beyond the quality of the fronts they replaced. I will be using Homestead again in the near future!

Homestead Cabinet Design does very professional work. You will feel that the cabinets are new with a factory finish. A very smooth and ever-so-slightly glossy finish that feels like it will stand up over time. Raymond created a barrier for the work and uses an exhaust fan so that it minimizes the effects to the rest of the house. He is polite and careful. He stayed with his estimate so no surprises on price, which is much less than new cabinets and so much more professional than some companies that do ‘refacing.’ Raymond earned every penny he charged- the prep (thorough degreasing and sanding), along with all of the coats of spray painting is a lot of work and nothing that I could tackle or pull off with this kind of end product. He was willing to do a difficult Island with many little drawers and cupboards and unique hardware. Be prepared to go out to eat and get takeout for 5 days which isn’t all bad and you do start to realize how attached you are to your kitchen, but we are so happy with the results.

Raymond redid our kitchen in 2021 and I wish I could give him more then 5 stars. His work is incredible. He is professional, kind and hardworking. We get so many compliments on our kitchen. I am delighted to spend time making wonderful meals in there! Raymond listened to exactly what I wanted and I watched my vision come to life! His team is professional and clean. He built a cabinet to match my exiting cabinets and they match so perfectly it looks like it was installed with the cabinets. I hired Homestead to install molding, replace hinges, install kick board and build out cabinets. Ray came out timely, issued a quote quickly and did an incredible job. I am very pleased with the work and would absolutely recommend him and use him again when the need arises. Very professional and reasonably priced.

We put a deposit down to have our cabinets repainted and at the time Homestead Cabinet design was booked out 8 months. I now know exactly why. The quality of their finished products is impeccable. Raymond was very responsive and easy to work with. He was quick, clean, and we have been floored by the transformation of our cabinets. We would recommend him to anyone looking for cabinet repainting or refinishing, and if we ever needed a change in our kitchen we would never use anyone else.

Raymond did a wonderful job freshening up our kitchen cabinets. The original paint job was over 20 years old and really needed a refresh. Raymond was meticulous in every way and I don’t exaggerate when I say the job he did was perfect. All the scratches, and marks were sanded away and everything was put back better than before. My kitchen is beautiful again!

Homestead Cabinet Design came highly recommended to me through a good friend. Ray was very professional and his work is outstanding. He provided a very detailed quote and delivered an amazing service on time and within budget. We had our cabinets refaced and painted. He was able to work around my vacation schedule so that our work was mostly done while we were away which was very much appreciated. It was great to be able to watch our kitchen transform through a couple videos he had posted on Instagram while we were away on vacation. The kitchen cabinets came out amazing and really transformed the look of our somewhat aging kitchen. He was extremely responsive and came out to the house a number of times to go over our options. Included with the service came a 1 hour consult with an interior designer who helped us select colors which was a tremendous help to us as this is not an area my wife and I are great at. Raymond did a cabinet refacing for us with new cabinet doors. He also made an enclosure for our stand alone fridge and next to it made me a dual trash and recycling pull out cabinet. I love it and love that it’s looks like a brand new kitchen for a fraction of the price. Raymond, runs and operates a respectable cabinet repair contracting business in which he also personally completes the projects and this ensures that they are done to the highest quality. We are very happy with the work that he completed for us and we will definitely hire him again to complete other projects in our home. We would highly recommend his services to anyone!

Amazing! I am pleasantly amazed at the type of paint quality and craftsman ship . I feel the finish and paint is better than the manufacturer cabinets. You can not tell that it's painted. The best part is that the paint has no smell after few hours. Raymond painted over polyurethane dark cherry to Chantilly lace and it came out great!I'm happy that we went with Raymond. We were lucky to have found Homestead through google search. Initially, we were a little weary of so many high reviews but now totally agreed with everyone! Raymond is very skillful and clean and easy to work with. I can understand why he's in high demand. Go with Raymond and you won't be disappointed.

I am extremely satisfied with my experience with Homestead Cabinet Design and would absolutely hire Raymond again for future projects. I interviewed many cabinet designers and cabinet painters. My project included painting existing cabinets, adding a wall of custom cabinetry and changing out the door and drawer fronts on my existing cabinets. The first reason I decided to go with Homestead was because Raymond was able to take care of every item I needed. He was open minded and had a can do attitude. After watching some of his videos on his website I could see his strong attention to detail and passion for his work.
